The Friends are supported by charitable trusts, businesses and organisations such as The Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage, and also by the generosity of some 2,400 individuals

The recognition of Christ Church’s national and international importance is reflected in the scale of the grant from the National Heritage Lottery Fund (£5.9m) – the largest Lottery grant to a parish church. The initial Heritage Lottery Fund award in 1996 followed the largest ever grant (£435,000) from English Heritage under their own Church Grant scheme. Major support has also come from the Monument Trust, one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts.

Substantial funds are still urgently needed to finish the restoration. £680,000 is required for matched funding and a further £1 million to complete the current programme.
