Nicholas Hawksmoor’s London Churches: All day bus tour
Saturday 12th September 2009

This tour will visit six of the remarkable Hawksmoor churches built by the Commissioners of the Fifty New Churches Act of 1711. In recent years the individuality of Hawksmoor’s commanding style has been increasingly recognised and after earlier neglect he is now acknowledged as one of the major architects of the European Baroque. This is a unique opportunity to see six of his finest works in a day accompanied by an expert guide. Places are limited and will be allocated as received. Booking is essential. The cost including bus, lunch, donations to churches and notes, is £70 per person (£60 for paid-up Supporters*).

Lunchtime Concerts at Christ Church
First Friday of every month from 13.10 - 14.00

Free lunchtime recitals are now given at Christ Church on the first Friday of every month, from 13.10 - 14.00, by young professional musicians and students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

  • Friday July 3rd. - Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas (classical guitar), plays music from his award-winning CD of works by the great Cuban guitarist Nico Rojas, combining classical and jazz harmonies and evoking the sounds of 1950's bohemian Havana.
